Lyric Love: The Best Is Yet to Come
End Title/The Best Is Yet to Come
Aoife Ní Fhearraigh
From Metal Gear Solid {End Credits}

Thoughts: I've always loved the Irish Gaelic language. I love the way it flows, and just how poetic it sounds. This song is a perfect example of its poetic nature. | MP3

Gaelic Lyrics:

An cuimhin leat an grá
Crá croí an ghrá
Níl anois ach ceol na h-oíche
Táim sioraí i ngrá
Leannáin le smál
Leannáin le smál
Lig leis agus beidh leat
Lig leis agus beidh grá

Cuimhne leat an t-am
Nuair a bhí tú sásta
An cuimhne leat an t-am
Nuair a bhí tú ag gáire

Tá an saol iontach
Má chreideann tú ann
Tug aghaidi ar an saol is sonas sioraí inár measc

Céard a tharla do na laethanta sin
Céard a tharla do na h-oícheanta sin
An cuimhin leat an t-am
Nuair a bhí tú faol bhrón

An cuimhin leat an t-am
Go sioraí sileadh na ndeor an ormsa nó orainne a bhí an locht

Ag mothú caiite s'ar fán
Cén fáth an t-achrann is sileadh na ndeor
Tá áilleacht sa saol
Má chuardaíonn tú e
Tá gliondar sa saol
Cuardaimís e

English Translation:

Tell me
I'm not alone
Tell me
We are not alone in this world
Fighting against the wind

Do you remember the time
When simple things made you happy?

You know
Life can be simple

You know
Life is simple

Because
The best thing in life is yet to come
Because....
The best is yet to come.

This song was originally written in Japanese, and then translated to Gaelic and sang for the game MGS.

You know what i like about anime industry? They do take this serious. I mean let alone writing whole new songs with actual feel in it, all this translating is sign of good hard work.

And this track is so nice. Makes me want to hear the rest. Is it possible? Is the game as good as it sounds? I've seenjust one trailer for MGS3 and played the PSP version shortly. I must say i was quite impressed with the action in that trailer.

I don't think my system would be enough for it though. >_>

Of course.
The anime industry is a godsend, I think. While some of the studios are infested (not sure if that is too harsh a word there) with Western ideals, most of them are not. They uphold and deliver the Japanese cultures' social customs and ideals - ones that are far more admirable than what we have here in the West. Love, virtue, and the such are not excused. And yes, the translation aspect is why I highly respect fansubbers. It's hard work.

And, yes. This track is very soothing. And what do you mean about "hearing the rest"? The game(s) are pretty good for action games. Rather than conventional FPS games, they tend to concentrate more on tactical and strategic gameplay rather than "shoot, bam, boom, grenade, kill." You know what I mean. They're solid games with solid, intriguing stories. If you have a Gamecube, Twin Snakes would be a great start (remake of the original MGS with better graphics and some added features); if not, the original MGS will probably run just fine on your computer. It ran fine on my really dusty and old laptop a few years back, and that had integrated graphics which made it terrible for game playing.

Thanks for the comment. And you should get on MSN more often. I was momentarily away when you last messaged me. >.<

Oh, and I forgot to mention. If you liked this song, you'll probably like this song more. It's from another MGS game (the PSP one, if I'm not mistaken):
